Where We Began

In 1976, talented drilling contractors John and George Vlchek joined forces to establish Cariboo Water Wells in Prince George, BC. Between them, the uncle and nephew team already had decades of proven success in their field. Trustworthy service and quality workmanship helped their new company quickly become recognized as an industry leader. As the region grew, so did the business, and before long, Cariboo was one of BC’s most sought-after drilling companies.

The Vlchek family built Cariboo’s reputation on strong values: make the most of the staff’s extensive experience; adopt the latest, most efficient methods and machinery; and develop a true respect for each and every customer. Today, everyone at Cariboo is still inspired by the Vlcheks’ vision and work ethic. The Vlcheks sold Cariboo upon John’s retirement in 2018, but the team still turns to him for his valuable insight and expertise (and lots of great stories!) when needed.

Where We’re Going

Since 2018, Chris Bain has been expanding Cariboo’s presence in BC, Alberta, and beyond. A growing roster of highly-trained staff members and the acquisition of additional, cutting-edge equipment allow Cariboo to meet a wider range of well-drilling needs. We look forward to another generation of exceptional service!
